Portfolio holder for Environment and Highways.

All views are my own.
An excellent trip out this morning to Renegade Brewery for breakfast with Santa.

We are so lucky in West Berkshire to have so many great, and independent, breweries!

Rachel Reeves must take bold action to slash the cost of living, rescue our high streets, and start fixing the mess left by Brexit.

That means negotiating a new Customs Union with the EU, to grow our economy and bring in tens of billions for the Exchequer.

I’m in Trafalgar Square with farmers ahead of the Budget announcement, talking about the rural economy and inheritance tax.
These issues matter hugely to Newbury and West Berkshire, and I’ll keep making sure our rural communities are heard.

This Remembrance Sunday, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We must never forget them — nor can we forget the veterans and serving personnel who continue to protect our freedom.

The risk of death when struck by a car at 20mph compared to 30mph is greatly reduced - let's all get to where we need to be safely.

Despite further clarification from the Chief Constable I remain concerned on the approach taken by British Transport Police with regards to bicycle theft at rail stations.

Across West Berkshire we have 10 stations - and the bicycle plays an important part to help travelers get to and from stations.

This is another truly authoritarian move. Typical Labour.

Keir Starmer says everyone in the UK will be required to have mandatory digital ID. That’s not the kind of country we want to be.

Liberal Democrats have always stood up to defend civil liberties against government overreach.

We will fight tooth and nail to oppose these plans too.

Today I spoke in Parliament on the Adoption & Special Guardianship Support Fund.

Adoptive families need certainty, not short-term fixes. Without long-term support, too many children risk being left behind.

We must never take their professionalism & care for granted, and I’ll keep pushing for the funding they need. www.leedillon.co.uk/post/visitin...

Without fixing social care, this NHS plan could be the most expensive sticking plaster in history.

It appears Labour are borrowing from the Conservative playbook - ignoring the social care crisis because it’s just too hard.

Like many, we have grave concerns about Trump’s attempts to undercut British farmers, undermine online safety and secure tax breaks for US tech barons.

With any trade deal the devil is in the details.

We will continue to ask the questions the public want answers to.

😲Did you know 42% of black bin waste could be recycled at the kerbside!

We have excellent kerbside recycling facilities in West Berkshire. Please make fhe most of them.

I'm proud to be a Liberal Democrat.

The fight for liberal democracy is more important now than ever.
We know the threat Reform poses – to our communities, our democracy and our precious liberal values. We know where their divisive, destructive brand of politics could lead.

Other parties can't or won't stand up to them. It's up to us to be the antidote to Reform's hate and division.

Across the country, voters have chosen our community politics over the Conservatives’ division and disdain.
