This case is an attack on trans people's employment rights. But it's also been deliberately weaponised as an attack on Upton herself, and as a lesson to trans people more broadly about how you might have your life ruined if you dare to advocate for yourself. All it takes is one vindictive colleague.
If you are a trans person being harassed at work, you will see Beth Upton and ask yourself whether it could ever be worth it to mention it to your boss.

Because if action is taken against your harasser, you might just be inviting the dedicated harassment of an entire hate movement instead.

The dogs want breakfast. The orange spaniel is shocked and hurt that his demands are not being instantly met. The elderly black lab is pleading for mercy for the anxious. The yellow lab has perfected her Melania scowl.

Today, Bishop Mariann Edgar Budde boldly called out Donald Trump for his hatred and bigotry at the National Cathedral Prayer Service. Now, the GOP is attacking her for speaking truth to power.

I have tried so hard not to fall into dread this year. This too shall pass.
We’re at that ‘absolutely exhausted’ point in Advent. Nearly there, people. Just push a little further. Not long till #ClergyMaltClub and the downhill section.

Fantastic gig last night: Grace Petrie at the Cornish Bank. Grace and the band, Ben Moss, Molly and the Bank were all fabulous. But why are none of you on Bluesky?

I cannot express how brave it is, in this current environment, for the Cathedral and the Dean to stand up for what is right. To follow in Christ's way of welcoming, ministering to, and protecting, the marginalised and oppressed. Regardless of the rhetoric of the oppressors.

Last night I enjoyed the best Carol service. Pride Carols at @trurocathedral.bsky.social with @cornwallpride.bsky.social and @jayhulmepoet.bsky.social speaking and performing some of his poetry. Jesus at the gay bar was the perfect conclusion to some beautiful thoughts. Such joy! #PrideCarols

A reminder that puberty blockers aren't being banned for cis kids, because they're safe.

It's not clinical risk, it's transphobia.

Utterly depressing news … please do write to Wes Streeting & your local MP. Things are becoming ever more challenging for the trans community, despite the government’s ‘aim’ to make trans lives easier …I feel like the marginalisation of my kind is something few care about
