Some more beans have been done up because they went down pretty quickly yesterday (yay, but also, please only take a packet or two, and please remember to share some back to a seed library, any seed library, after you've let the best pods dry off and go brown on the plant).

For anyone interested in seed libraries, this is a very inspiring seed library project happening over in Waldronville and I am really interested in sharing this particular post. See, many seedsavers have this interest in story.

The Broad Bay seed/plant swap is on today, at 2pm in room 4 of Broad Bay school. Come and get heritage tomato seed, heritage beans, other bits and pieces. Be part of Ōtepoti's growing seedsaving community as we adapt seed to our climate, garden for me tal and physical health and build community

Thank you to the beautiful Jae for sharing some heirloom tomato and some chilli seed to the library. It is such a privilege to see these seeds as they move around our community. I feel so incredibly lucky to see these varieties as they come and go, season after season.

Im also planning to do this with beans, so if you'd prefer to grow beans, im going to get tomatoes out first and probably get onto beans mid August.

I have been collecting tomato seed for years to stock the seed library. I have a problem, however, in that it all needs regular growing out and I dont have room.
It would be a huge shame for Dunedin to lose this seed, so I have a wee plan.

I'm posting this not for so much a discussion, but transparency (as last time). Whilst some may see politics as having no place here, it's this seed libraries position that to be apolitical is a privilege that leads to exclusion of voice and failure to promote diversity in all of our communities.
