#fermentation
Mon dîner est fait à 100% de processus de fermentation.

Open fermentation areas, especially with observation areas for tours / inspection have strict safety and contamination protocols.

I've never felt the need to call bullshit on one of these before, but the basic misunderstanding of how brewing/food safety works irked me more than it probably should 😄

Whole cluster fermentation, FTW.

My latest fermentation is starting to get a bit lively.

#MicrobiologyMonday: Bacteria swarm, but DYK they also "swash"? This flagella-independent movement is tied to fermentation: as cells ferment sugars, they create local osmolarity gradients, which generate a wave of fluid driving expansion. #JBacteriology: asm.social/2Gh

At 6am I was woken by the sound of an explosion... I knew it could only be one thing... The question was how bad it was..

It was pretty bad.

My blow off tube got clogged by solids during fermentation and since I had it clamped down, it blew up 😩

Robotics and #AI are taking over in the #Dairy industry 👺

Fortunately soon we will be able using precision fermentation to make #milk and all dairy products without using animals

Before that is available:

bro you are like the fermentation fairy

Now let's not judge, it may have been an open fermentation brewer and they tripped really high into the air*

*You are probably correct.

What can you do with an excess of honey? Our son and daughter gave us a mead making kit, and after a few months of fermentation it’s time for bottling. #mead #homebrew

Alright! Here’s an update on the Homebrew Strawberry Soda! We got our first stirs at the 8hr and 20hr marks (should’ve been 16hr, but I was asleep!) and as you can see, we already got some bubbles! This means fermentation has started as the sugar feeds the berry’s natural yeast!

Unfortunately, cultured meat will never ever ever be even close to cost parity. A chicken as a meat growing machine has an efficiency that industrial science will never match. However, precision fermentation can make cheaper protein that will get "meatier"

Lessons have been learned. Thankfully I moved this fermentation to one of the most featureless places in the house and didn't leave it in the living room this time

Rabbitholling goes crazy when you’re a do-er because my ex told me she didn’t think I could grow a mushroom and now I’m comparing fermentation tank pricing

Tried a new sourdough recipe with my favourite regenerative flour. One angled score gave a bold ear and a rustic rise. Sliced it later and the loaf had a surprise in store. #Sourdough

For a sparkling wine, it's usually that they haven't killed all the yeast, so further fermentation may increase the pressure to dangerous levels, causing explosive breakage.

i feel like w peanut butter fermentation is a fickle thing, i think it tends to work better with salty compliments that are low on the fermentation funk. olives, unfermented dill pickles, vinegar/salt forward pepper sauces and the like

I feel like there is some specific differences in the fiber growth that makes cotton more similar to wool to work with than linen is, but it's somewhere in the hazy back of my brain 🙃

Also iirc linen has a wild soaking + fermentation (?) step

Dunkel eher, weil Licht den Geschmack nachteilig verändern kann. Aber das ist ein physikalischer und chemischer Prozesse, nicht Fermentation.

Second day of fermentation, shape and roll the cheese in milled nuts and cranberries.Leave to ferment for another day in a warm room.

Britain is great. The problems are not going to be solved by swimming, fermentation or 5 meals a day.

British wild swimming scene is second to none but water is full of sewage.

British food is great but people need to go to food banks.

For 5 meals a day, can you get that from a food bank?

Apologies in advance if I start posting an annoying amount about pickling and fermentation. I fear I am rapidly sliding down a kombucha brewing pipeline.

Come in from the dogwalk, one where I was very smug at Elsie completely ignoring two noisy fighty dashunds that objected to us sitting at the opposite end of the town square, to find the house reeking of cider fermentation farts so the doors and windows are all open.
