I watched some Wes Anderson recently, Tenenbaums and Asteroid City, something earlier and something later, and yeah, just from those two I could see how his style was sort of...running out of steam.
So what changed? It isn’t my taste, because I still rewatch Tenenbaums and Darjeeling and love them just as passionately as I always have. Perhaps even more.

I saw it when it first came out but I was too young to really understand its gravity. This time around, I was an absolute wreck.
I cried so hard watching this for the first time. Devastating is putting it mildly!
On that note though, justice for Brokeback Mountain, tho! We should have never let it get reduced to a punchline.

I watched Brokeback Mountain like last week or so and been thinking a lot ever since about how this homophobia shows up even between men are out, how they still cower away from intimacy and connection.
This too!!! I made a few videos last year on how men (cis, intersex n trans men) are touched deprived. But also on how sex isn’t the only way to combat touch deprivation. Yet with homophobia men showing love to one another is often deemed “gay” and/or feminine by patriarchy n toxic masculinity.

This. Everything is surface level. Dudes (cishet n cis males in general) will sit up n say they’re lonely but really what they mean is they’re horny n want sex. Looking for life coaches, mommies n daddies, therapist, sex toys, banks, cooks, maids n custodians …. No wonder why they’re alone. lol 😂
