Fashionable some 6,000 years ago: a stunning Neolithic three-row necklace from Sachsenheim, dating to around 4,000 BC. This remarkable piece, which comprises more than 500 limestone and jet beads, is a witness to both craftsmanship and style.

Something wonderful for the weekend!

About 40,000 years ago, during the #IceAge, an ancient artist skilfully sculpted this tiny head of a cave lion from mammoth ivory. It is one of the World’s oldest known works of figurative art.

A supergiant deep-sea crustacean may be far more common than we thought. The species, Alicella gigantea, is rarely encountered, but could in theory live across 59 per cent of the sea floor.

Unforgivable from Keir Starmer.
Keir Starmer says immigration system is “almost designed to permit abuse” and that it risks “pulling the country apart”.
