I 100% recommend @pierrenovellie.bsky.social's book Why Can't I Enjoy Things? - hands down the best first person book on autism I've read. Obviously everyone's experience is different so I also echo others' advice to just talk to other ND folk about their experience and realise you're not alone!

Maybe Keir should demand the heads of major US news networks any time they imply Britain is on the brink of civil war or that we live under sharia law. Or does it not work both ways?

1/ The US Government has quietly removed a memorial to Black soldiers who died in World War II from the Netherlands American Cemetery in Margraten, South Limburg. The move follows a complaint from the right-wing Heritage Foundation to the American Battle Monuments Commission. ⬇️

One little detail in A House of Dynamite completely took me out of the action: all of the letters in the WH briefing room were the correct way up. Complete fantasy. Might as well have been set in Narnia.
The White House briefing room. Four Hs. Three of them are upside down. And it’s been that way since 2007.

A ★★★★★ review of I Know Where I'm Going! (1945)
I remember watching this the first time and being a bit baffled by it. It seemed weirdly theatrical, the Scotland unconvincing and clichéd, and I didn’t pick up on any chemistry between Wendy Hillier ...

This is such a clear and useful article. Why does the phrase ‘the really important step was taken by David Cameron and Nick Clegg’s coalition government’ not surprise me?
I wrote this to explain how we reached this point, in the hope it would be a resource for people arguing with friends and family, people with questions, perhaps even people thinking of joining a protest. Do share with anyone who might find it useful. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Targeted by the right, Britain’s asylum hotels are places of fear and disorder. Bad political decisions made it so | Daniel Trilling
In the frenzy of racism and culture warring, the issue of why hotels are used gets overlooked, says author Daniel Trilling
