Local people protested, people raised money and showed up for court support. Local press covered what happened which is how folks on here came to know this happened. Local people didn't abandon her.
They shot an undocumented man here on a busy street in the middle of the day.

They put “5 shots, 7 holes” (agents bragging words) in a Latina woman. Lied about the reasons. Charged her with attacking them then dropped it all.

There wasn’t enough outrage.

We reviewed Gregory Bovino and his agents’ tactics in Chicago. From a shooting to Slim Jims, the feds’ poor tactics made for needless safety risks for the public and the officers themselves. “Simply reckless,” former police superintendent said.

The dripping contempt the right wing SCOTUS majority holds for district judges is truly a sight to behold every time. When they deign to give actual reasons for their shadow docket holdings, it’s “look at the absolute idiots who keep getting everything wrong!”

Still, as plaintiff Rev. Abby Holcombe says, damage has been done: “Thousands of our neighbors have disappeared, without due process and without a trace. Thousands more—including a generation of children—have been terrified and traumatized by the reckless, lawless brutality of these agents.” 5/7

The administration tried to sell a false story of "lawlessness," but Chicagoans told and documented the truth — peaceful demonstrators shot while praying, tear gassed in the streets, and much more.

Recordings destroyed the government’s narrative and gave lawyers crucial evidence.

I’ve come to believe that we need to gather considerable forces and a campaign to demand the removal of face masks by ICE, Border Patrol, FBI and police.

It is a practice in conflict with the principles of transparency & accountability that are central to the concept of democracy.
