I see no path forward between what people are saying they want and the Democratic party as currently constituted. No path.

Folks, the reporting is that Trump is making PERSONAL CALLS to Mace, MTG and others about the discharge petition. Would you be doing this if you had nothing to hide? Let's please all be serious here.

Leaked footage from inside an ICE detention facility near Houston. No beds, no bathrooms, hundreds of men, women, and children in one combined cell/room. They are kept in freezing conditions.

Alderman Sigcho-Lopez was right to call out Pritzker today about the state police arresting protesters. Pritzker responded that the state police are protecting protesters, and that just isn't true. State cops have arrested and brutalized protesters to facilitate ICE operations. That's reality.

@govpritzker.illinois.gov Time to stop talking the talk and start walking the walk.

And if you could make your Illinois State Police stop beating our friends at Broadview that would be great.
Soft secession

Legislation creates a Federal Tax Escrow Account in the state treasury. Instead of employers forwarding collected federal taxes to Washington, they send them to the state. The state holds the money in escrow. A legislative panel reviews federal spending for constitutional compliance.

Listen Kaine, Hassan, King, Cortez-Masto, Durbin, Shaheen, Rosen, and Fetterman. You're NOT gonna take away my 2025 election joy. We voted in that election for folks to FIGHT for us. That doesn't include YOU.

YOU are what we voted AGAINST last Tuesday. So I'm gonna hang on to that.

Eight Senate Democrats, in capitulating to the Trump Republicans to end the shutdown, have succeeded in puncturing all the momentum of the last week since the election blowout.

100% on the money. The 8 who felt safest connived to protect the rest of the caucus, especially Schumer. The others would have voted along with the Republicans but they knew it would cost them their jobs. These people represent the interests of their wealthiest donors, not ours.

The Dems who are caving are doing so not because their base wants them to,

not because the voters want them to,

not because the fed workers and SNAP recipients want them to…

they are caving because their DONORS want them to.

And that’s really all that ever matters to the corrupt

For those that have “good senators” that are voting our way -

Call them anyways. Ask them to actively campaign to remove Schumer from his minority leader position over this unnecessary capitulation.

The Dems need to start admonishing their Vichy colleagues. It’s the only way we win.
An ordinary resolution by a majority of Senate Democrats can replace the Senate Minority Leader (link is for majority leader but it’s the same process).

If 24 Senators (counting independents to get to 47) tell Schumer he’s out if he lets the caucus cave, I doubt they cave today.

Every #Democratic cave is a new mental health crisis for a lot of us just trying to survive right now.

If our nation's "leaders" don't see a future for this country or that it's worth saving, why or how could I possibly keep myself alive for the continued destruction of *waves arm*...everything?

Dems backed Trump into a corner where he’s advocating for starving Americans and hemorrhaging support. If they vote to let him off the hook in exchange for nothing it’s a cataclysmic failure. I know people are in pain but insulating Republicans from political consequences is not the answer.

Yes they are. They’re just not telling you.

Liberal, GOP, or leftist, anytime a Black person shares experience with racism with white people, it’s a tightrope walk.
