Noting that the Fed is holding its officials to a strict standard about stock trading, far stricter that the (largely disclosure) rules that Congress has imposed on itself.
Fed Gov Kugler's financial disclosures are out. She and/or husband traded stocks in 2024 in violation of Fed policies. She sought waiver from Powell to attend July 2025 FOMC meeting; he refused. She resigned. www.wsj.com/economy/cent...
Kugler Resignation From Fed Board Followed Disclosures of Improper Stock Trades
New disclosures show that Kugler made several stock transactions that violated Fed policies and prompted an ethics probe.

Something only @schumer.senate.gov and friends couldn’t see coming.

Primary all of them.
Republicans demand tougher abortion restrictions to extend Obamacare funds
Democrats say that’s a nonstarter, arguing there are already limits on abortion access. The dispute could torpedo a deal, leading to higher health insurance premiums for millions.

I am so furious right now.

AGs across the country fought to get SNAP benefits.

Federal workers suffered with weeks of no pay.

Millions of people showed up to protest Trump.

Democrats showed up in record numbers at the polls to say 'we've got your back!'

And you caved for literally nothing.

Since the Democrats worked extra hard to hide who actually supported this, I think the No Kings/Resistance position should be to primary every Democrat unless they publicly call for Schumer's ouster this week

Either they go into total rebellion mode, which they won't, or the people will

People are saying there's no upside to this deal. Wait a second. Isn't the end of Chuck Schumer's political career an upside?

It doesn't actually matter if Chuck Schumer votes for this or not.

If he can't keep his caucus unified to protect healthcare for over 10 million Americans, he should resign as leader.

If the Dems blink after all of this, for a deal that all but ensures no ACA subsidies in 2026 anyway, then what was the purpose of letting the shutdown go for 40 days in the first place?

Chris Murphy: "There will be pretty substantial damage to a Dem brand that has been rehabilitated if on the heels of an election in which the people told us to keep fighting, we immediately stop... if we surrender without having gotten anything, I worry it'll be hard to get them back up off the mat"

There’s no one I trust less than Donald Trump and Mike Johnson.

Any deal that relies on Republicans to keep their word is a bad one.

Democrats can’t give up on affordable health care for an empty promise. Minnesotans can’t afford for Democrats to cave.

This is, unsurprisingly, nonsensical. Is he suggesting eliminating health insurance and giving people a few thousand dollars instead? And then when they get a cancer diagnosis they just go bankrupt?

He is so unserious. That's why we are shut down and Americans know it.

Democrats should message that.
