Voted today with my 20yr old son voting for the first time at his former primary school. We celebrated the occasion with a democracy sausage, served to us by one of his former teachers!

Indoctrination and political pressure in schools says the LNP.
I AGREE!
Stop funding private schools! They’re sending out how to vote emails ffs! What is a religious school if not an institution of indoctrination!

“Bad men need nothing more to compass their ends, than that good men should look on and do nothing.” - John Stuart Mill, 1867.

Welcoming people to Country* ain't the problem, white supremacists are.

*For the uneducated, this is _not_ welcoming you to Australia. We have libraries & the web, read.

Laudato si, published in 2015, was Pope Francis’s second encyclical. He condemned consumerism and environmental destruction of our common home and called on all people to take swift and unified action on global warming. #auspol

Absolutely disgusting story: a climate-denying councillor used allegation of "anti-semitism" towards a renewable energy community group to force the resignation of a board member with threats of cut funding.

She resigned: the funding was cut anyway.

I was in one of these horrendous queues at Sydney airport last year. It was embarrassing as an Australian to watch how useless & complicated our system was, & how chronically understaffed. It was the worst entry into a country I have ever experienced. www.smh.com.au/politics/fed...

January 26th is not a day of celebration for Australian Indigenous communities; it marks the beginning of immense loss and trauma.

there's much not to like about the current federal govt but the one that is really cutting through for me now is how many TV charity ads i'm seeing begging for money to mitigate crises in Australia which shouldn't be happening especially under a "no one left behind" ALP govt.

We know that Trump's previous administration proposed cutting all federal library funding every year he was in office.

But what does federal funding pay for, and why does it matter?

You might be surprised!
