I often wonder what people imagine fighting fascism is like. I think they think it’s like resistance gun fights against oppressors in the streets or something. It’s actually doing things every day that push against oppression. It’s looking at what a regime tells you to do and saying, “No”
This is why we say that popping on a mask when you go to the grocery store is a chance to resist creeping fascism. It’s a simple way to refuse this training to abandon others.
Despite its falsity, RFK Jr's message resonates with many Americans. Because it gives them a sense of protection against the risks they face and a sense of permission to not feel bad for others who do experience harm.

Please help Jessy and Joel, if you are able. ❤️
I am able to share the tragic news I mentioned this week on behalf of the family: my dear friend Jessy Roos lost her beautiful 10mo old JJ suddenly on December 23. Her wonderful family needs our support to help them through the coming days and beyond. www.gofundme.com/f/honouring-...

It would be nice if we could invent a device that people could wear when they were sick to filter out germs and keep other people around them from getting sick.

But alas the only option available is to open mouth cough on everyone nearby.

Reminder that one of the most important times to wear a mask is right now during holiday season travel. Transits hubs are high risk as many people travel while they are sick. A high quality mask like an N95 will help protect you and help ensure you don't miss out on valuable time with loved ones.

Since Remebrance Day, the end of John McCrae's In Flanders Fields has haunted me.

"Take up our quarrel with the foe;
To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high, If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders' Fields. "

I would like to speak up today for the trans community.

You see, I know a bit of what it’s like to be politically scapegoated. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, suddenly anyone in America who had any amount of Japanese ancestry became suspect. Politicians preyed upon ignorance and fear. /1

I have faced fascism before, in this very country. I was one of 120,000 Japanese Americans summarily rounded up and expelled from our homes at gunpoint, all for the crime of looking like the people who bombed Pearl Harbor.

I spent my childhood behind barbed wire. My parents lost everything. 1/
