It’s still hard to grasp that there aren’t 4 GOP Reps (who will otherwise be forgotten forever after retiring & likely defeated next year anyway) aren’t interested in going down in history as all-time 🇺🇸 heroes by caucusing with the Dems & giving them the majority to impeach Trump & save the Republic
Democrats should hold a press conference and announce that if Mike Johnson has no interest in running the House they'd be happy to do it for him
Mike Johnson has dissolved Congress. Why?

The point of work is to make people suffer for money. Until AI feels pain, it will not replace humans.

When robots and artificial intelligence can do everything humans can, it will still make sense to pay people to pay attention to you. For example, artists will pay people to consume their work.

this is a team effort from dozens of people over many years, and they all deserve huge credit

still, a shoutout to @sebmarkbage.calyptus.eu who did much of the initial design on 7 (!) of these projects and convinced everyone else to work on them for a decade

Chemtrails, když se nad tím člověk zamyslí, není vůbec špatná idea. Pro území Česka bych navrhoval směs složenou z Ozempicu, antidepresiv, a antabusu. #cestavlakem

The inability of the scientific & medical community to move on from the rehab model for #ME & #LongCovid stems from the simple issue that they don't want to be wrong.

I wanted to watch a movie with my kids (1, 3, 5), and I finally found something that we can all watch. Great story, educational, we stuck with it until the end.

@martin.kleppmann.com Hi. I think the new Evolu relay and protocol is a kind of "generic syncing service."
I’d be really interested to hear your thoughts on this approach, if you have a moment.

GetPocket (a read-it-later app) is closing, and I'm wondering whether we need such an app at all. Do we need to remove UI noise and preserve only the text and images? While I believe that "ornament is a crime", this is something else. UI is a face, and I don't want to live in a faceless world.

The new Evolu is here.

It’s not true that local-first software doesn’t scale.
The real local-first, not offline-first, does.
Traditional client-server doesn’t.

I don’t know how we get out of this. But if we do, one person can never have that kind of power again.
