Ah yes. Thanks, Sue. THE MISSION has received less media attention than it deserves, because the subject is politically volatile. Terrific book, and my fourth with author Tim Weiner, the ultimate researcher by interview.

@isabel.kim, Thanks for your wonderful "Human Voices." @lightspeedmagazine.com's author spotlight was fascinating and gave background on the potential power of a voice. (BTW, I also found "deep ennui" on the one cruise ship I was ever on.) And bravo to @stefansecho.bsky.social's amazing performance.

Thanks Glenn. This "story" has become one of my instant favorites. Special format and all.

Just last night, this song by John Denver popped up on my playlist. Seems terribly appropriate today. Enjoy.

I have listened to that one as well. I usually listen to Ender's Game at least once a year. It is one of my favorites and quite possibly my favorite book of all time.

By all means, go for it. I guarantee it'll sound different to you. New revelations. Or...go for ENDER'S GAME ALIVE, OSC's dramatic adaptation of the events surrounding ENDER'S GAME. With an even bigger cast. Plus sound effects and original music, and a whole bunch of other features.
Ah, you're right! I forgot about that. Guess I need to listen to it again.

A few years back I had the pleasure and the honor of directing Diane Keaton reading Joan Didion's Slouching Towards Bethlehem. At a studio in Santa Monica. Sweet lady. She did a wonderful job. Wish I could promote her performance, but that version has disappeared. I'll miss her.

Thanks for the referral. But it should be noted that this is a multi-cast production, and there are a few other narrators involved. They are ALL terrific.
Ender's Game is narrated perfectly by @stefansecho.bsky.social

Thanks, Lonna for placing us in such great company.
Ahhh, but the right narrator can get that right without it sounding grating. Stefan Rudnicki @stefansecho.bsky.social, Gabrielle deCuir @giftogab.bsky.social, Grover Gardner, RC Bray, and Roy Dotrice are all amazing readers.

Thank you!
For a satirical fever dream only marginally (by the most austerity-trimmed of feathers) more absurd than reality, @p-h-lee.bsky.social’s Richard Nixon and the Princess of the Crows in @lightspeedmagazine.com, read by the inimical @stefansecho.bsky.social, takes the imperial cake 🐦‍⬛🎂
Hilarious!

Fascist occultism goes viral in Manish Melwani’s spine-chilling masterwork, MAMMOTH (@nightmare-magazine.com, hauntingly delivered by @stefansecho.bsky.social).

It creeps from the shadows; inexorable as history, foreboding as myth

If you haven’t read it yet, you will.

Agreed! I know Roxanne would love to see your comments, and I'm just trying to adjust to her current social media, since she doesn't seem to be represented on bsky.
What a great story! Anyone who's been to conferences (which I have) couldn't help but laugh (which I did). All the pieces were perfect, and I hope that someone can also compliment Roxanne Hernandez for both her dry delivery + her clueless jerk one. Thx very much! @stefansecho.bsky.social

Sounds like your doppelganger! Thanks so much for humoring my query.

I owned that record when I was a kid but I don't know where it is now.

Sorry Cynthia. This guy is good, but it's not me. I couldn't find a narrator credit. Is it pirated? So much audio on YouTube is.

Thanks, Meg. I love this story! As I do most of your writing. Thank you.

I love this story! But, Cynthia, I need some context on Hansel and Gretel.
The narration is great -- and, also, I think that @stefansecho.bsky.social might have been the narrator for the Tale Spinners recording of Hansel and Gretel that is *seared into my brain*?
The narrator of my newest story did an INCREDIBLE job on the voice of a grown-up fat kid who survived his tour of the chocolate factory. It’s a five minute listen! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/l...

I believe that many will. And, alas, others won't. The story means a lot to me too.
Thanks Stefan. This story really means a lot to me and I’m honored to have you read it. I know you understand its importance. I hope others will as well. 🥹
Thanks for the kind words, and the fanfare. And for writing this important story in the first place.
