Tech nerd. He/Him. Balancing cynicism, moral outrage and dark humor (sometimes successfully). My opinions are my own.

"I swear to God I'll pistol whip the next guy who says 'Shenanigans.'"

I guess cheering on this wannabe dictator while he tries to ignore the Constitution and the other branches of government somehow counts as being a patriot or a good citizen to some people.
“The Trump administration is not refusing to share power with an opposing party. It is refusing to follow the constitutional limits of a government that its own party controls completely,” Jonathan Chait argues.
Trump Signals He Might Ignore the Courts
Yesterday, the president said that no judge “should be allowed” to rule against the changes his administration is making.

What if there were a coup, the US government fell to a drug-addled oligarch who seized control of our money, secrets, and levers of power, and Corporate media did not report on it?

“Trump’s bigotry is both a strategy and a goal. He wants to harm marginalized people, especially ones who oppose him politically, and targeting them provides a good way to deflect blame.”

If this is what passes for a 'Christian' and a 'patriot' in the States these days, we're in trouble.

If no one stops him, he certainly can. And is.
The question here is: Can the president just decide to take Congress's power away and make all of the rules and decisions himself? The very foundation of American democracy is that the answer to this question is a hard "no."

Inspectors General are tasked with rooting out government waste. They have been purged by Trump because they could also identify his corruption.

DOGE is tasked with *pretending* to root out government waste. It has been installed to promote corruption to benefit Trump and his loyalest cronies.

Keep this bookmarked for when you find yourself arguing with Christian nationalists who've convinced themselves the Gospel is for suckers and losers..
Dan McClellan is a PHD accredited bible scholar. And he has taken issue with trump and his followers response to Bishop Budde. He is always very thorough in his explanations. And he is no less here.

Happy Martin Luther King, Jr. day, folks. Do his memory and sacrifice a solid and keep your eye out for racist bullshit by the bigots who hide in plain sight within our society, and injustice perpetuated by the grifters who openly exploit others.

Peace.

One of the many reasons we can't have nice things.
It’s disappointing but not surprising the numbers of people who demanded Merrick Garland release Vol I of Jack Smith’s report, then didn’t bother reading it when he did.

Alright kids, I'm stumped looking for a new word. I've been using 'sane-washing' for what the media has done for President Caligula over the last 10 years. What's the word for his wife? Watching Netflix donate money to 45's inauguration and pledge funds for a Melania 'documentary' I need new words.

The more details that come out about United Healthcare's practice of regularly denying necessary medical claims (forcing patients to skip treatment or pay out of pocket) the more I'm astonished something like a CEO assassination didn't happen sooner. Utterly ghoulish.
