The Tories are catching us up and they are dead. 💩 at politics doesn’t even come close, with a majority of 251 after only 16 months in Government, they should be flying in the polls, RW press, Farage, Trump or not.

I simply do not understand how the govt can simultaneously believe (1) they don’t have enough political capital to breach the manifesto on tax and (2) they have enough to political capital to pick an unwinnable fight with their own MPs on immigration.

But there aren’t, and a Labour Party so extreme against asylum seekers because all they are interested is bringing the numbers down will never introduce more legal routes. Let’s not be naive.

Where is the Labour Party proposing to open more legal routes? Of course I would prefer it. But you think that those who don’t qualify, or can’t wait for the speed of bureaucracy are going to give up? If you do, you really don’t understand human nature.

Having a policy “we will stop the boats” sets you up for failure. If you are desperate, you are prepared to do anything even risking your life and pay people smugglers. The volume of crossing will just depend on how good the weather is. End of.

I am Italian, you check the History of immigration to Italy. People have tried to reach Italy by boat since 1980, first it was Albanians, now it is Africans, Bangladeshi, Afghans, Iraqis, Syrians etc etc. for as long as there are conflicts people will always get on a dinghy. You CANNOT stop it.

Me too.

Anyone who even thinks about these policies, doesn’t belong in Labour. If they do, then I don’t. My daughters both members will vote Green next election if this continues. You think Reform voters will vote Labour because we are robbing asylum seekers of their valuables?

What I don’t understand is: he was a human rights lawyer. Was he a fake then? What has happened to him since? Does he have any scruples or a conscience? How do we get rid of him before he destroys us potentially worse than what Corbyn did?

People didn’t know what they wanted, they just wanted it to “Stop” but people didn’t have a clue what “it” even was. And nobody has still spelled it out that we have actually lost 6% of GDP and that’s the reason we are in the 💩!

We didn’t vote for cruelty, nothing to do with “toughness”. We voted for change for better not for worse. I am an immigrant too, and as the saying goes: eventually they will come for you too, so I’ll be next.

It’s gutting to be a Labour member at the moment looking at the Home Secretary thinking of robbing asylum seekers of their valuables. I think she would fit well in Reform, but does she belong in Labour? If she does, I don’t.

Is the leadership listening? The PLP must put a stop, one way or another, to this extremism from HS and No. 10. I didn’t deliver leaflets last year to have a Labour Government more extremist on immigration than Meloni.
November 17, 2025 at 8:42 PM
Proposing to rob asylum seekers of their jewellery to pay for their accommodation in disgusting filthy hotels, is not what I delivered leaflets for. So even if they don’t go ahead&do it, the fact that a Lab Home Secretary even thought about it is despicable. Meloni(who is a fascist)is less extreme.
