Believer in hope. 🦋
Just a mom, fighting cancer, never giving up.
Escapee of the upside down.

Perpetual helper, volunteer, and animal foster.
I deal by humor and say fuck a lot.
Trying to leave the world a better place.

Today I can say I am
CANCER FREE!

It has been a long journey and it’s not over. I’m not sure it ever will be.
I have not been able to do everything I want, but I do what I can, when I can.
Keep fighting, keep resisting.
Never give up HOPE. 🩷

Food banks are running low. They have been. Coupled with recent furloughs, and now possible snap benefits not hitting for those who desperately need it.
Donate if you can. Check on your neighbors.
We are NOT like them.
WE are the HELPERS.

Fighting cancer, we say “We can do hard things. I believe this applies to the current political environment as well. I’ve had to step away from socials for a bit. I have my last chemo today. I have a long road ahead of me yet, but I’m here and hope to join my friends still getting in Good TROUBLE. 💕

Shop small businesses especially black women owned. Buy from local farms. Start a garden. Read and collect banned books. Attend school board meetings. Support teachers. Donate items. Food pantries go dry after holidays. Vote in all local elections. Build your in person network. Be an ally.

Listen to Rep. Crenshaw whine about not being able to do inside trading because he doesn’t make enough money on a federal salary.

What a weiner.

I cannot stress this enough. Pay attention to your upcoming local elections. School boards to special elections. Ground up.
This will be wild

Since it’s Thanksgiving, here’s a picture of our neighborhood turkey that loves to hold up traffic.
He’s kinda a celebrity around here.

I wish anyone celebrating a Happy Thanksgiving.
Enjoy your time with family or alone, whichever brings you peace.

There will be time for bad days ahead but I refuse to let them take the good days from me while they’re still here.

Today I’m just grateful to have this time with those I love.

Elections aren’t every four years. In many places they aren’t even every two!

You may have elections in 2025. Treat them as equally as important as the Presidential race. We need to build a bench.

The town councilperson of today is the U.S. Senator of tomorrow.

Blivet. A word my father would often use when I was growing up. I think it applies well to the current goings on.

I miss reading the local paper in the morning. Headlines first. Then local news, feel good stories, the weird fascination and fear getting to the obituaries to see if anybody you knew was there, then closing up with Calvin and Hobbes and Garfield.
Blue sky kinda feels like that.
