If the white supremacists are celebrating the salute (they are), it was exactly what we think it was. We can name it a "roman" salute, but there is no historical reference of Romans using it. Even if they had, it cannot be unbranded any more so than the swastika can go back to being a peace symbol.

There are limitations to what a president can legally do via executive action, and many of Trump’s orders are expected to be challenged in court. That legal process could slow down or halt their implementation.

Read more here:

We’re tracking the executive orders Trump signed on his first day in office, just hours after being inaugurated as president.

If you bash a woman for having daddy issues or because she's a single mom, you're pointing out men who failed. Her father didn't care for her or give her the support she needed, a partner who isn't there to support his children. Welcome to Patriarchy 101.

The reality is that Salesmanship is the differentiation between the two parties.

The Dems couldn't sell dollar bills for 50c

Trump has found his audience and can sell them dollar bills for $5

When everything is a story the algorithm flashes at you as you scroll, you better be selling fast
It is truly about who tells a better story — or really a story people want to hear and makes them see what they believe rather than believe what they see.

Scrolling through Instagram this morning and I'm stunned by the absolutely awful comments on posts of people posing their homes. No, they didn't "deserve it" for living in a blue state. They didn't "have it coming for being a lib" or a "coastal elite". Where is the humanity?

Shoutout to the Los Angeles Times reporters who are doing essential journalism under very difficult circumstances.

They’ve dropped their paywall, but their ongoing coverage is a good reminder of why local newsrooms need support — and what we lose when those outlets are hollowed out.

I don't know who needs to hear this:
1. January 6th was not a "peaceful protest".
2. Many of those responsible will never be held accountable.
3. Not everyone there participated in the riot.
4. Those who were violent are not political prisoners, but criminals.
