The state of the translation industry is sad. When I began fan-translating 10+ years ago, I was able to make a name for myself and get into some pretty high-profile jobs. Now they barely pay anything for translation/localization. I'm lucky to be able to still do JP in the gaming industry, honestly.
The translation industry's race to the bottom is driving so many talented translators out of the industry.
Most of my colleagues from my Master's program in Translation are not doing anything related to translation at all anymore.
The rest are either in-house or do it as a 'side hustle'.

Also i haven't been so active on bsky so much is bc I've been so busy with packing and buying furniture for my new place 😵💫😵💫 i move in 2 weeks!

Updating my jlpt results on here and 2nd year in a row I didn't pass. Last year was by 10 pts, this year by 12pts lol I need to LOCK IN on vocabulary and grammar bc it's my weakness every time lollll 3rd times a charm right? We go again this year 💪
