Australia’s richest person — who happens to be a devotee of Donald Trump — has emerged as one of the biggest winners of the US-China spat over strategic minerals.

They're there in the US and they are here in Oz. In fact I guess they are everywhere.
Remember: The richest 1% evade over $160 billion in taxes every year.

That amount would fund SNAP for a year with money to spare.

Ask yourself who the real freeloaders are.

I'm with you David and all the others who want the Full Murphy Review Recommendations implemented.
That's what the #Dunkley voted for in the by-election.
The Labor Caucus must cajole the the PM and Cabinet into working their way through this.
Yes I want Free to Air TV. Don't ...
Even former gambling execs are calling for action on gambling ads.

Good to hear the Minister is restarting talks on reform, but what’s needed is courage from the PM to take on vested interests & pursue a complete ban on ads - just as the Murphy Review recommended.

How to deal with this?
Americans and the rest of us need to think of ways to counter this.
Start with organisations - like Murdochs, the media, that support and encourage and spread such stupidity.
I did not think we would get to this point even 12 months ago.

Now I just shrug, as do many.

And THAT is a problem

#NotNormal
Setting aside the absolute scientific idiocy of the specifics here, reflect for just a moment on the fact that there's a list of "banned words" at all.
That's fascism and unAmerican.

"Energy Dept adds #climatechange and emissions to list of banned words"

Nope, he has always refused to answer the question.

What's worse about Hastie though, is that like Morrison, he's an opportunistic narcissist.

And he's funded, endorsed and adored by Gina Rinehart.

Andrew Hastie - without the ugly drinking and the scandals - is Gina's new, improved Barnaby toy.

Battle for the bush? Ignore the noise – most farmers like renewables
Getting to net zero relies on the bush. Rapid change can create tensions – but media framing and vested interests have inflamed the situation.

If you haven’t already forgotten the #Libs / #LNP then you should after #Hastie’s no surprise rash announcement. Another nail in their coffin.
“[hastie] has picked a hell of a day to say he will die on the hill of net zero… millions of australians were just warned about the potentially catastrophic impacts of climate change and he is saying to them ‘i don’t give a stuff’.”
