Any shares of this much appreciated! When my ex-publishers collapsed, taking over £20,000 of my earnings with them into the void, all my books suffered but none more than 1983. This is me trying to repair that. It’s about:
Childhood
Education
Aliens
Alpacas
The East Midlands
The old future we lost
Hello! My CEO Roscoe and I are giving away TWO signed copies of my novel 1983 to two randomly selected people who repost this & pop a reply below. You also get a free postcard of this illustration of Roscoe by my mum.

It’s been called “Stranger Things rewritten by Kurt Vonnegut & Sue Townsend”…

I really wonder what would need to happen to disrupt the British media‘s current obsession with immigrants.
I am serious. What would it take to talk about something else? Putin invading a few more countries? Another Prime Minister being hounded out of office? Global economic collapse? A tidal wave?

The whole thread is worth reading. The dog-whistling of the past fifteen years has lead to this.
The only people who have spoiled the nature of this area were the mindless thugs who came to our homes last evening and created chaos.

I’ve never been scared by the asylum seekers. I’m terrified that the angry mob will return.

So, how do I get *my* country back from them? I’ve genuinely no idea

"Getting bungalowed" is being purloined.
3rd Aug 2024: "Fitz has been acting a little weird in the afternoon for the past couple of days—going for extra long afternoon naps. I just discovered that he's managed to rip open a very potent catnip toy and has evidently been getting absolutely bungalowed by himself around 3pm every day 🤣"

Please read this. This is what our mania over immigration is doing to us. Psychologically brutalising British children

The damaging impact of leaving the EU on the UK economy is clear.

It's fitting that at £40 billion, the budget black hole the Brexiter Tories left the Labour government is the same size as the £40 billion in lost exchequer revenue due to Brexit.

Word of the Day, should you need it, is ‘latibulate’, a 17th-century verb meaning to find a corner somewhere and hide in it.

It would also be really great if people could acknowledge that it is possible to hold more than one thought in one’s head at the same time, and that caring about one thing does not mean you don’t care about another.

I genuinely don't get how someone could look at this tree and feel moved to cut it down. I'm glad that I don't connect with that mindset, but really want to know how we can turn this sort of destructive, vicious attitude around.
