All jokes aside it's really fucked up to see so many people on here celebrating murder. No one here is the judge of who deserves to live or die. That's the job of the AI algorithm the insurance company designed to maximise profits on your health and no one else

I don't know who needs to know this, but Pro Publica has an online thing that will format a letter to your US health insurance company to demand the records behind a claim denial. (which the insurance is then legally required to provide in most cases)

There's a nearly universal experience of workplace trauma where Autistics experience exactly this:

hired for your attention to detail
praised for being thorough
resented for your nitpicking
admonished for not letting something go

& leave because burnout

rinse. repeat. variations on a theme.
Being very autistic in a neurotypical workplace is painful as you are both praised and penalized for your autistic qualities.

"Delay Deny Defend: Why insurance companies don't pay claims and what you can do about it" is a book by Jay Feinman. I read it a few years ago. My THEORY is that it's a play on those words.
Shell casings found at the scene where the UnitedHealthcare CEO was shot dead by a masked gunman in front of a busy New York hotel had the words “deny,” “defend” and “depose” written on them www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news...

Researchers at the London School of Economics have found that 50 years of tax cuts for the wealthy have not trickled down to the middle class and only served to help the rich get richer.

What does Trump have planned for his second term? Another giant tax cut for the wealthy.
50 years of tax cuts for the rich failed to trickle down, economics study says
Tax cuts for the wealthy didn't boost the economies of the U.S. and 17 other countries — but they did worsen income inequality.

Autism doesn’t look like anything, really.

IF it does, it’s the silent struggles. It’s the inner shame. It’s the storms in our bodies without words to articulate. It’s the unspoken pain.

It’s moments of ordinary where we don’t fit & can’t perform and thus pay the price.

The CFPB protects Americans from Wall Street's unfair financial practices, including excessive fees and misuse of consumer data.

Since 2011, it has returned $19.6 billion to consumers' pockets from corporate predators.

No wonder the world's richest man wants to "delete" it.

This is incredibly disturbing and goes against every rule of war, international law, the Uniform Code of Military Justice, and the very ethic of the military. A disciplined military goes to every length to prevent civilian deaths and having a SecDef who doesn't care is unacceptable.

We should bring back Home Ec. classes and combine them with finance. I took a Personal Finance class that taught insurance, taxes, mortgage amortization and more. It really helped me prepare a budget in adulthood. Then just mix in Home Ec. and I feel like it would be a very well rounded course.

I have so much beef with American Healthcare. There's no reason a kidney stone removal should be $1,300 out of pocket when you pay hundreds every month for "good" insurance.
