Horrific news about Rob Reiner. Directing When Harry Met Sally on its own would be enough to establish yourself as one of the masters but my god, what a fucking run

I wrote this week’s Radio Times cover(s) feature on Avatar: Fire and Ash. Inside I speak to our lord and saviour James Cameron on the “stupidest business model in the world” – making a movie “that fails if it’s not in the top ten in history”.

All good shops etc. Feliz Na’vidad!

Lots to admire in The War Between The Land and the Sea's thorny eco-reckoning premise but my god it is so heavy handed. I thought my eyes were going to roll out of my skull.

Trying to imagine a scenario in which I am not able to mute this World Cup draw. I think I'd throw myself out of a window.

Find the idea of television and film being almost entirely dominated by Netflix dispiriting to say the least.

Have I ever told you how much I love Wolf Alice? Well, I love Wolf Alice.

Almost every reason for wanting this is evil and the positives are stuff like 'hey, I wonder what it would look like if Goku was at my Bar Mitzvah'
Nano Banana Pro also seems to be good at moving the camera when recreating images, which can add a false sense of authenticity to sets of images, for example:

Saw the stage adaptation of The Spy Who Came in From the Cold last night. Some great performances but it didn’t quite work for me. A bit too disjointed and overwrought IMO, which undermines the moody sophistication of the book. The peril, I guess, of condensing novels for theatre.

Have had to ban myself from watching Frasier over breakfast because it kept on making me want to take the day off to watch more Frasier

Complaints about Pluribus being too slow or whatever are really sifting the virgin Breaking Bad fans from the chad Better Call Saul enjoyers

Went to watch the recording of Taskmaster: Champion of Champions last night. Maybe the most I’ve laughed in my entire life? No idea how much of Sam Campbell will survive the edit but the man is simply not of this Earth.

Looking forward to Link saying 'well, that happened!' and everyone involved in the production having to go into witness protection

That Tom Felton video floating around reminds me of the time I saw Glengarry Glen Ross on Broadway and couldn't believe how annoyingly loud and boisterous the crowd were. American actors must come to the West End and think everyone hates them.

There are like six Spider-Men. I think people can get their head around it.
James Bond’s death in No Time to Die is causing a nightmare for the next film. Writers are stuck because Bond “was blown to pieces.”

Anthony Horowitz, author of three 007 novels, says:

“You can't have him wake up in shower and saying it was all a dream."

Really is a testament to The Traitors' format that it can get that kind of drama out of a group of people who inherently don't need the money. #CelebrityTraitors
