Former #UCP minister Sonya Savage said that without public funding, Premier Smith’s perpetual pipeline project is a pipe dream.

Obvious, but still nice to hear someone influential in the Alberta oilpatch saying aloud what no member of Smith’s cabinet will admit, writes @djclimenhaga.bsky.social.

"Cleanup costs for the more than 40,000 inactive wells in the riding are estimated at $1.5 billion dollars as of 2023, according to research done by TheRockies.Life.

However the number could be much higher .. "

Truth be told, I’m damn sad about the 60 Minutes/Bari Weiss news. That show has been on air almost my entire life, and I grew up watching it with my grandparents (I was a nerdy kid).

My emotional attachment aside, 60 Minutes was a bastion of investigative reporting.

Today is a disgraceful day.

This isn't a conservative vision.

It's radical and retrogressive.
Smith finally said it out loud...

She doesn't believe that government should be providing any services to Albertans, she believes that private companies should be used universally to provide services.

Faith groups should take care of the vulnerable.
