Such an icon. I had the pleasure of attending her lecture once- it was beyond inspiring.
The Jane Goodall Institute of Canada has learned this morning, Wednesday, October 1st, 2025, that Dr. Jane Goodall DBE, UN Messenger of Peace and Founder of the Jane Goodall Institute, has passed away due to natural causes.

She was in California as part of her speaking tour in the United States.

Harvard has set an example for other higher-ed institutions - rejecting an unlawful and ham-handed attempt to stifle academic freedom, while taking steps to make sure students can benefit from an environment of intellectual inquiry, rigorous debate and mutual respect. Let’s hope others follow suit.

NIH termination notices arrived today for our Postbaccalaurate Education (PREP) and Initiative for Maximizing Student Development (IMSD) grants. Students trained from these grants for over 26 years and have gone on to outstanding careers in biomedical science. So many future careers in jeopardy.
