Have watched a loved one spend months on an anti-malaria project in this region, only to see the dictatorship take a blowtorch to it by scrapping USAID. Yes, I am channelling that anger into action. Also: I am grieving for those who never stood a chance.
Biggest thing I will not miss about the global realignment away from the US: the whims of floating voters in swing states deciding the lives and deaths of villagers in South Sudan.

Hard to argue that your focus as a government is security for people and then do this.
But the risk is that some of these positive changes to the system are over-shadowed by the big cuts to PIP and UC-health.
