The e.g I was offered was close: "artist, dog-lover, avid reader" I'm not claiming the first. Librarian by trade: scholarly communications, open librarianship, copyright, creative commons licensing, author rights

Cornell agreed to pay $30m, hand over admissions data with demographic breakdowns, produce annual "campus climate" surveys to check on antisemitism and changes "since October of 2023," and—here's the dumbest part they agreed to—that the govt can open new investigations whenever it wants.
Appeasers.

arXiv will no longer accept review articles and position papers unless they have been accepted at a journal or a conference and complete successful peer review.
This is due to being overwhelmed by a hundreds of AI generated papers a month.
Yet another open submission process killed by LLMs.

The Trump administration has a rainy day fund that will keep SNAP from expiring in November. Trump is refusing to use it.
Funding SNAP isn't a choice he can make. It's a legal obligation. USDA must release the funds and stop punishing the American people.

Andrew Cuomo is a Nihilist Who Hates New York City
Near the beginning of his mayoral campaign, an eagle eyed observer noticed Andrew Cuomo’s car parked illegally and snapped a photo of it for social media. It wasn’t the worst of Andrew Cuomo’s offense...

Chatbots — LLMs — do not know facts and are not designed to be able to accurately answer factual questions. They are designed to find and mimic patterns of words, probabilistically. When they’re “right” it’s because correct things are often written down, so those patterns are frequent. That’s all.

WOW: The White House says the president's MAIN PRIORITY is his BALLROOM. SNAP is ending. Subsidies for health care are gong to double and in some instances quadruple plan premiums. The government is shut down. The cost of living is through the roof. And his priority is his ballroom.
