One great thing about ANDOR is all the soy Republicans who love to complain about Star Wars being too woke have absolutely nothing to say about this show because it is leagues above their mental pay grade. They do not have the vocabulary to engage with any of the points it makes

Howie Roseman says the #Eagles won't even scout players who have ever been violent with women:

“I won’t even watch them. I don't even want to talk. I can't go 'He’s really good, he did it 10 years ago and he learned from it.” It just doesn't work for us."

All I'm saying is, if you ran a campaign on democracy being at stake and democracy lost, isn't it time to be massively freaking out instead of doing this

Who is responsible for "knowing" is a great question
People are having predictable reactions to this piece, which I get, but I actually do think we need to have a collective discussion about epistemic ethics, as it were. She didn't know. *Should* she have known? Who is responsible for her not knowing? Did she fail or was she failed, or both?

there really ought to be more discussion about the fact that virtually every promise (or denial) trump made during the campaign was a total lie

interesting to me that no one condemns republicans for “racial essentialism” when their most prominent voices — say, the literal president and vice president of the united states — believe that citizenship has an ethnic and racial basis. www.thebulwark.com/p/vance-immi...
Vance Gets Creepy About Immigrants, Again
Last time he spun a yarn about Haitians eating people’s pets, this time he’s mocking Ukrainian Americans who oppose Putin’s war.

*white voters
People’s reactions to these stories tend to be of the leopards-eating-faces variety but this is a great piece of reporting in part about how voters very disconnected from politics make their choices.

To be clear: Even greater damage will be done by the loss of federal government productivity. The workers who are losing their jobs were worth more than they were being paid! We are all poorer when roads, planes, and food are unsafe, when parks are closed, etc.

take a page from the radical republicans: punish treason. reward loyalty.
i’ll just add that it’s not enough to destroy their brand, you have to destroy the sources of their power. they can continue fucking everything up from the courts and in the information environments. you have to go after their structural advantages
So all you can REALLY do is try to destroy their brand altogether. You have to end the threat. Every time they win, they change the rules in their favor. Do you do any of that by agreeing they have a lot of good points and hoping egg prices stay high?
