Media composer, sound designer and a hobbyist writer. Director of "A Real Composer". PhD researcher at night.
The Coca Cola holiday ad for this year was completely AI-generated, which caused a huge backlash. It got a strong negative reaction all over.

The production company, "Secret Level", then proceeded to make a behind the scenes -video with the idea that there was a lot of human labor 1/x

AI and artistry - a thread on Becker's Art World theory.

Philosophically speaking, generative art differs from human art a lot. An interesting observation is through Becker's art world theory.

He describes artistry as a process that will always involve outside interference.

Fake artists. The scary future of AI?

Recently, it was uncovered that Spotify is creating fake artists under made up names that create stock music in bulk amounts to fill curated playlists on the platform. The idea os to not have to pay royalties to real artists.

And there it is folks.

Burkov has some good takes on AI and has a deep understanding of it, so when people I'd expect to be more immune to this sort of thing are bringing it up as an issue I find it fairly alarming.

Another thought provoking generative AI thread about politics.

I have regularly seen conversation around AI like "Left wing hates AI" or that "Liberal ideology is afraid of AI technology."

There seems to be some kind of trend that generative AI is viewed differently by different political views.

Research shows that art created by an artificial intelligence is liked less and perceived more negatively. However, this perception depends on two factors: 1. How the AI was used and on which creation processes and; 2. Whether or not the viewer is aware that the art was created by an AI,

Todays AI research, topic is nonlinear editing.

There has been several AI projects that are researching the concept of nonlinear editing, such as Runway and Adobe.

The idea is based on 100% AI generated video material that is being edites as it is created.

Todays AI observations about Sora. OpenAI released Sora publicly today in the US. This is an AI that generates videos. But what does this mean for video editors?

If there ever is an AI that creates sound effects, I want it to understand terms like "add more scrongle", "i want it more braam" and "its not sploshy enough"

Latest thread on AI research. This time the topic of "Is prompt engineering the same as screenwriting?"

Fundamentally, prompts written for an AI are very similar as screenplays. You can look at both of them as a list of instructions you write to create something.

Todays AI research update. A recent study in Finland found out that in screenwriting, humans prefer to maintain full creative control of the work, whereas AI is seen more of an asssitive tool to enhance repetitive processes. This, however, does not mean the process is faster, but rather different.

Another composer here! Worked on various indie projects and films, my big project was directing and scoring "A real composer" documentary film.
Let’s get all the game composers here. Quote this and reintroduce yourself on Blue Sky so we can all find one another!

Hi! I’m Mason Lieberman, and I’m a composer and audio director who works on a lot of games and anime. I also do a fair bit as a recording player and artist, and love collabs ❤️
