I'd do awful things for some chicken fried steak right now.

If you thought the AI slop was bad on Facebook, have you seen LinkedIn recently? Hooooooooooly shit is it bad.

Decided to take a break and read in bed, because it's pleasant and a good use of time.

The cat has so far totally prevented reading. He is occupying my chest, neck, and face.

In the photo, he's not mid-rub. This is the position he settled on 15 min ago.

Missing those long Texas afternoons with friends, with nothing in particular to do and no hurry to figure it out

I was 15 when Blur's "Song 2" was released.

At the time of posting, I am on the doorstep of 44.

The song still kicks ass.

Revisiting Josef Koudelka's work tonight and I couldn't tell you why it's hitting me as hard as it is right now, but it definitely is doing its thing.

In my mind, I want to believe that if I were to be in a rock band, it would sound something like Motörhead, but really, it would be much closer to a circus's calliope plus guitars.

This morning, when I first went out, I saw a familiar neighborhood cat. Just now, I saw it again, and one of its back legs was clearly injured and bloody. Never been able to get close to that cat, no chance I'd be able to catch it to help it, but I really hope someone can get it the help it needs.

Just a thought:

Anyone up for playing kickball?

Seriously, why not a regular Sunday morning (etc) kickball game?

We could also play stickball now and then to switch things up.

Think I might challenge myself to blog more again in 2026. My original blogging challenge was 2 posts a week all year, but I think this time I'll aim for one per week. Between running my business and other upcoming changes, 2 is probably too many...

Lacto-fermentation time! Lawson had great small cucumbers for cheap, and that's all the reason I need to make some fermented dill pickles.

It'll take longer now that the weather is cooler, but even so, should have some delicious, crunchy pickles in about a week.

Got a reply elsewhere that was lengthy, clearly AI-generated, and "advice" I didn't ask for.

Instant block.

Unsolicited advice is almost always unwelcome, but this new AI element makes it especially shit.

Some new prints in the shop today. Including the "Vase n the Window" and the "Fuel Cell Bus" that I shot this week.

The McLaren one is a new one, too.

That one will look good big, for sure.

Available in sizes up to 1.5m across.

Good morning. One from a shoot in Feb of 2021. Unique opportunity to photograph the McLaren GT in a practically empty Kyoto. This shot, for me, sums up the wide scenes that excited me about the car photography I grew up with in the 1970s. But that now, cos of Instagram, is rare to see.

Thinking of doing an epic 12 hour photo walk on December 30, starting near my home in Saitama City at 6:00 and seeing how far into Tokyo I can get by 18:00. People would be free to join or leave at any point along the way.

Sometimes I just want to walk around with a tool kit and fix all the bicycles I see with clear problems.

Do you know what's wrong with this one?
