I used to rip phone books in half as a gimmick, but now it's all digital and apparently it's not funny when I break phones in half instead

Found a strip club today that offers a student discount, which isn't something I've ever thought about as a thing that might exist.

Rode about 60km today in 3 sections in the course of going to Tokyo to teach, going to another place to see a friend, then going home again.

It was pretty great, overall. And cycling through Tokyo at night remains a delight.

Rode to Adachi-ku to teach, mostly followed the path along the river. And you know what? These gates suck. There's too many of them, and they're entirely too hard to get through on a bicycle.

Fixed two really frustrating mechanical problems tonight with my bike. Small things, but important.

And once again, I am really, really grateful to have learned these skills growing up. Being able to fix things is great. Very practical, but also very satisfying.

Wanted a recharge nap, and he joined me. I need to get up again, though, and he's not having it.

I cannot overstate how much I hate Trump and everyone contributing to, participating in, or otherwise supporting the most corrupt, dangerous administration in US history.

Sure would be nice if the dems could figure out how to not be quite such chickenshit all the time.

Just remembering the time the girl I had a huge crush on in college showed up to my drawing class to pose nude. Damn near lost my composure.

"I do not have the mental or emotional capacity to deal with his loss, but sometimes, I sit in a chair late at night and quietly feel very bad. When the night is at its most quiet, I can hear death. I am very proud of my sadness, because it means I am more alive."

Took way too long to find this. Great song, great album, great music, but even when I finally tracked down this CD a decade ago, it was already 20 years old and largely forgotten, and that's shit.
