Just read “Capitalists Must Starve” by Park Seolyeon & @antonhur.com The title & blurb led me to expect a book about a factory strike... It is an absorbing portrait of Juryong’s whole life - its hardships, how she was treated as a woman, her resilience, determination & passion. A fascinating read!

vacuum cleaners are loud and scary tools of oppression that should be banned. they destroy peace and, indeed, entire families. "cleaning" is an elitist concept that merely causes items to be moved from where theyre supposed to be.

yes these are my actual thoughts and i am not speaking under duress

In 2026, it will have been 500 years since the first kidnapped and enslaved Africans arrived in what is now the continental US.

They were the first to rebel against slavery, too. And they succeeded. #giftlink

I know it's hard for Western countries to look to the rest of the world as role models for anything, but damn, Western politicians could really learn a thing or two from South Koreans about going all in to defend democracy

(specifically thinking of Germany & the US rn, but I'm sure there's more)
Democratic Party aides are shown spraying fire extinguishers at the infiltrating army to keep them back.

I just want to add that I am a South Korean citizen and Seoul resident and I am *extremely* proud of South Korean democracy and this president has violated something I hold sacrosanct
