added a new #GlasgowInterfaceExplorer applet, `control-clock`: a simple clock generator for when you just need to feed something into the XI pin of an MCU or something.

you can use it in combination with other applets!
e.g.: `glasgow multi probe-rs ... ++ control-clock --clk A7 -f 2000`

we do respect in theory the concept of trying to avoid sounding like a weeb when translating, but the problem with that is that the monogatari series is fundamentally otaku media, the characters constantly make otaku culture references, they *should* sound like weebs you know!

the next problem was to *modulate* the signal with morse code.

he used another mag amp. this one *detunes* the giant transformer that gathers current from all the poles and matches the impedance to the antenna array. turning off the key shifts the frequency, reducing the output power by over 90%.

the next big problem that Alexanderson had to solve was controlling the speed. any variation caused the output frequency to drift out of the range that the antenna could support. this circuit uses a closed-loop design with a resonant filter to control magnetic amplifiers.

so now the maximum frequency is controlled mainly by the speed and the number of slots in the spinning rotor. and those can be packed together pretty tightly! it's very similar to how a Hammond organ works.

see, a alternator's output frequency depends on 2 things: how fast it turns and how many *poles* you have (basically groups of windings.) to bump up the frequency, you have to put on as many poles as you can physically fit and then run it as fast as you can!

The idea that you can just “teach computer science” and be apolitical is a beautiful dream that expired in the 2000s, at the latest. Computer science has re-organized every facet of our society: it is inherently political. Instead of taking this idea seriously, we ran from it. Now we live in hell.
