Running a record label means Release Day carries a special kind of charge, helping gorgeous music out into the world. It's especially lovely today, as my best friend Evan is the artist we're releasing. His music as Bluetech has healed many a wounded soul, and I'm delighted to share it with you. 💜

Resurfacing from my Hermit Mode to share a moment of celebration. Recently I won 1st prize in a photo contest co-sponsored by The Icon, a print lab in Los Angeles, for this photo. They printed and hung it in their gallery space, and today I visited. Such a great feeling.

I'm not going to lie, I fell in love with with this cloud. I must have taken a hundred pictures as it sailed past over the city. It's hanging over the skyline across Humber Bay like a giant hot air balloon in the golden hour.

Loch Gairloch and the Torridon Mountains, Wester Ross, Scotland. April 2007

I posted a colour version of this a couple of months ago... I think I prefer this version.

Taken at 7:00am it shows the dark steel grey of the loch, in the middle distance low cloud / mist cloaks the lower hills and fills the valleys. In the background the Torridon Mountains tower above the scene. Gentle light from the rising sun illuminates the top of the mist and the peaks of Torridon. The sky above the mountains is clear, but at the top of the photo above my head a band of dark, angry cloud hints at bad weather to come.
