Way too much Austin FC content. Cautiously engaging in USMNT discourse again.
Well that sucks. I mean I'm sorry for fans whose experience is going to be worse.

I just think don't folks in cold climates really understand what it's like down here. And if it's unacceptable for the fans, it's insane to have professional athletes training and playing in it for 3/4 of a season.

It's great to be a TV fan of the league in the summer, just not one actually going to games.
November 14, 2025 at 3:10 AM
Don't play a lot of them.

Texas doesn't cool off all night. 9pm is kickoffs is not a solution.
November 14, 2025 at 3:07 AM
So what's your solution for fans who currently spend most of their season in completely unacceptable conditions? Or does that not matter because it's been the status quo.

The June - August period is pretty exhausting as a fan (for me). I’m hoping we play a few games on the road in August so the hot games are only a few each year.

Also, this calendar will probably help keep guys in Austin longer… I’m sure the players hate the summers here.

People are freaking about games that aren’t going to happen (because the league won’t be playing in January) or a few more home games played in cold weather. Y’all will be fine.

Better players will more easily be able to sign with MLS teams, and more of them will do it. The quality of the league will improve.

Now just imagine if you raised the salary cap, too!

Sounds like the plot of a Netflix romantic comedy.
November 11, 2025 at 1:00 AM
Which is also fine if... he'd then just be honest about it and welcome the feedback and perspective from the local sickos!

And then also, like clockwork, he QTs fans to his followers (who are guaranteed to know even less about our utterly unwatchable team) to try to make them look crazy, and of course does so by cherry-picking his correct takes and forgetting the wrong or ill-informed ones.

bsky.app/profile/then...
Some good ones! Another was saying that Stuver was the most underrated GK in MLS prior to '24

Matt also said that...

- ATX would finish 10th in '22 (2nd)
- Finish 3rd in '23 (12th)
- Finish 14th in '24 (10th)
- Bukari lost his starting spot last month

Sometimes maybe good, sometimes maybe shit!
Like when I...

- said Rigoni was a bum from day 1
- said the defense was fked without Gabrielsen
- said Driussi would regress from his 2022 season
- said they'd miss the playoffs in 2024
- said they'd finish 6th & make the playoffs in 2025 but lack for midfield creativity throughout

Most Austin fans aren't really concerned around negative press or opinions on the team, the reason they are obnoxious and noisy on social media is because the negativity is in the wrong places and ill-informed! We just want you to be down about the right things.

In other words, it is blatantly obvious the exact game that the take on the player was built from, because it was actually an outlier performance or tactical setup. Most fans here actually have a lot of respect for Doyle's analysis and game knowledge... when it's clear he's really paying attention.

Followed closely by Uzuni lining up for a PK.

Some friends have reminded me that his transfer fee likely excludes him from being TAM-buyout eligible ☹️
November 3, 2025 at 6:35 PM
Crazy to see a guy that athletically superior playing against other pro athletes.
November 3, 2025 at 6:08 PM
That would be a best case scenario for sure — Bukari is a good TAM player. Not a DP.
November 3, 2025 at 6:06 PM
Just to be clear the result last night is t really what’s informing my critique — I’ve been down on the build for a long time now. Pretty much as soon as it became apparent that Uzuni could not play a second striker or LW.

At $30 million in spend there’s no reason our front line shouldn’t have been in the convo for the class of the west. Instead we got three guys on radically different wavelengths and no 10 to connect them. Signing 2 DPs who play the same position made no sense at all.

I think he inarguably improved the team with just about every signing at the individual level. But the build itself across the player profiles and his head coach hire was just atrocious.
