Soccer dad whose kid sucked him into loving Austin FC.
While the results were slightly below my expectations for Austin FC it was a fun year of games at Q2, including the all star game and a cup final. It’s a year to remember, but given the spend, 6th with a round 1 playoff exit and cup final loss seems slightly disappointing. Feeling hopeful for 26 tho

Let’s go Austin FC!!!

I hope we play LAFC in the playoffs for two reasons. One. I want to watch Son at Q2. But more importantly I don’t want Austin to duck the team playing the best soccer in the west right now because there might be an easier opponent. To be the best you gotta beat the best.

Question for the Bluesky Austin FC sickos. Who do you want to play in the MLS playoffs and why? San Diego, LA or Minnesota? Our 6 spot is locked but decision day is a big one for the verde and black.

Game time!!! #austinfc #usopencup

My eyes are on Oct 1st and the cup, but I can’t help but guess at the final standings in the MLS playoff race. A win in the LAFC make up game could be the difference between us playing Minnesota or the wrecking ball that LAFC has turned into. It’s gonna be a fun finish to the season #austinfc

Still riding high from the Austin FC semifinal win last night. After the Dallas loss it was great to see the effort and desire the team came with. I really think Nico put on a masterclass. From the starting lineup, tactics, and the subs.

Wow!!! What an effort by Austin FC! Great goal by CJ and great coaching by Nico.

I just said… “blow the whistle!” when Wolff served up Bukari with a great ball over the top. Austin FC is one half from a US Open Cup final!

Big day for Austin FC! Verde! Listos!

Austin FC sickos, do you think Nico will rotate the lineup against Dallas at all to prioritize the US Open Cup? I don’t think i remember any of the pods discussing that this week @thenorthendpodcast.com @moontowersoccer.bsky.social @emergencypodcast.bsky.social

I’m very curious to see if Nico has some surprises for the Austin FC lineup this weekend. Uzuni could be questionable, and our other international players are probably all traveling today. Just wondering if the young guns that showed up against KC get a little love in the Dallas match.

Austin FC’s recent form should build confidence for the US Open Cup semifinals. I really want to see a cup final at Q2 this year.

I think I’d like the western division standings to stay as they are. It’d be interesting for Austin FC to play Minnesota 6 times in one season but I think I’d rather play the Whitecaps in the playoffs. I don’t think they are as tough as they were to begin the season. Thoughts?

So happy for CJ! Stu big money save at the end! Huge (1st comeback) win and the subs brought a massive spark to a lackluster start it the second half. Oh yeah, Mr. Wolff…. how about that 1st touch between two center backs and then threads the needle for a golazo. #austinfc.

I like like the verde and black’s chances on the road this Sunday. KC has given up 15 goals in their last 5. That should help our heavily rotated squad find a goal. Predict 1-0 Austin FC win and Stu gets another clean sheet.

BV and Izuni on the front line and @bradstuver.com in goal of Hudson’s homemade foosball game. Wolff is forced to play left back due to the lack of a midfield. 😜 The kid loves Austin FC!

I picked my 11 year old son up from soccer practice tonight and told him Rodo was having a press conference tomorrow. He said “Is he just gonna talk about GAM?” and then starts singing “Flipadelphia”. Maybe it’s time to cutback on @thenorthendpodcast.com and @moontowersoccer.bsky.social podcasts.

Rodo to New England “You won’t believe the names you can get with this international spot. It’s yours for the low low price of $225k” #austinfc #rodocooks #gamtastic

The second half of this article demonstrates why MLS cannot be considered a competitive league for players. Needlessly complicated rules in service to some ideal of competitive parity the league willingly abandons when convenient (see, e.g. Inter Miami).
The Union sign striker Milan Iloski, a big boost to their attacking depth
Iloski scored 10 goals in 14 games for San Diego FC on a short-term loan from April through July. After that, the Union moved to sign him — but had to jump through a pile of hoops first.

I thought my fellow Austin FC sickos would appreciate this article about salary cap… if they haven’t already seen it.

Looking at the schedules for the the western division teams in playoff spots currently, I think Austin FC ends the season in 5th, sliding in front of Portland. LAFC has a pretty easy schedule so unless we go a tear and they drop some easy ones, I don’t think we’re getting a home playoff game.

I could really use an Austin FC rumor update or even better, some green smoke out of nowhere. I’m still holding out hope for a TAM 10 for this transfer window.

While it may not feel like it, Austin FC has a decent record since their win against El Paso back in May. Only 3 losses in last 15 games, 2 of which were road games against top 4 supporters shield teams. Offense is showing signs of life and defense continues to be solid.
