You should know what your contract says because it will tell you what you can and cannot do. Because if they start pulling "well the letter of the contract says we don't have to answer--" then you know what your options are.

You should know what you are obligating yourself to do.

I think if you're not yourself a fighter in tech right now, you need to learn how to amplify, protect, and rally around the people you see whom you generally believe are pushing on the right directions. I will say I don't know that software engineering knows how to do this because it hasn't had to

More than *anything* the people who actually know how technology works, who actually build things, wish that people would treat LLMs like every other technology, and be normal about them. Don't build a religion about them, don't force them on people, don't ignore the problems. Just be normal.
