It is 100% their fault for not retiring 20 fucking years ago or passing any regulation of the tech billionaires that they inflated through tax policies.
Something that I think we can all agree on is that the current generation of Democratic leadership is simply not optimized for the Attention Age. Not really their fault! And honestly, they may be better people for it, but it's a pretty pressing political problem.

That "intellectual diversity" and "free speech" were trojan horses for right-wing power-grabs has been obvious from the start and I remain disappointed how many supposedly rational folks took bad-faith actors at their word.
“Intellectual diversity is essentially a fake problem that is used to create cover for ideologically committed, far-right faculty who are not intellectually honest.” Craig Campbell, UT anthropology professor.

When talking about climate change I’ve started to incorporate a quick physical explanation on the basics before getting into it, like “CO2, a molecule that absorbs heat like a black t-shirt,…” or “carbon dioxide, which is opaque to infrared light,…”

One of my longstanding frustrations as a policy reporter with a solutions bent is how frequently good ideas are funded only briefly. In this story about the Multnomah County Mother's Trust experiment, my colleague Austin De Dios eloquently makes that point again. www.oregonlive.com/politics/202...
Multnomah County’s universal basic income experiment worked, until the money ran out
Early research into the county program delivering monthly cash payments to 100 Black mothers showed promise, but it ended earlier this year.

If there are credible reports about public officials assaulting women or trafficking humans or abusing children, release all of them, party be damned, and remove those people. This should not be hard.
Some House Freedom Caucus members are screaming payback if Dems successfully force a vote on the House floor to release the Gaetz ethics report, saying it could lead to them getting other reports involving current or former Dem members, per Politico

Democrats have spent years carefully abandoning political positions it fears might cost them votes, each time getting closer to the ultimate goal: a political party that has zero positions and therefore cannot lose votes.

This X account has been given a grey checkmark, verifying it as an official government account.

It also only accepts resumes be DM's, which are solely open to verified X users who pay Elon Musk.

This level of corruption is staggering.

The Department of Government Efficiency is pure Orwellian. Cowboy CEOs can't fix the government. They don't have the constitutional authority, and the Government Accountability Office already does what they want to do, but better.

Musk’s Efficiency Department Is Highly Inefficient
It’s probably asking too much of cowboy CEOs to know that the government already has an agency to cut waste or that it clawed back $74 billion in fiscal 2023 alone.
