#NOLATwitter. “Snickyfritz” is a family nickname – a loose translation of “little chatterbox" in German. I'm also descended from one of the Brides of la Baleine, which is like the Mayflower but filled with mostly French sex workers.

Editors have a really hard job, and the good ones can make something unreadable readable, and the great ones can make something unreadable into something good. But they're basically invisible, until someone tries to write without one.

I actually love Chris Collingsworth and learn a lot from his commentary.

Are there any Fortune 500 companies that are rejecting the use of AI for writing and editing content (and also hiring)? Watching this insanity unfold when the LLMs aren't ready is becoming unbearable.

You know those articles when you google "What time is the football game?" and all the subheadings are phrased like search queries?

These are GOLD:

When is the Rapture happening?

Who said it's the end of the world tomorrow?

Why is the Rapture on September 23?

And of course --

#RaptureTok
Is the 'Rapture' happening tomorrow? Pastor claims rapture, 'end of world' Sept 23
A pastor says the "Rapture" is upon us, and it'll happen as soon as tomorrow. What is going on? Here's what we know about viral video.

I asked ChatGPT to explain the Ann joke in Arrested Development. It mentioned that two actresses played Ann -- that originally it was Alia Shawkat. 🤔🤦🏻‍♀️ I corrected it.

Then it said Alexandra Daddario first had the role. 🤦🏻‍♀️

It was Alessandra Torresani.

This is not important, but we're so cooked.

Among the coolest parts of the Pee-Wee Herman doc is learning that Paul Rubens was smoking hot.

I'm an editor and this is spot on.

Did you have a good world when you died? Enough to base a movie on? 😔

At first I thought it was charming, but collectively, the fawning during the #oscars nominations is wearying.
March 3, 2025 at 1:46 AM
The Oscars are tonight? What? This is what happens when you stop reading the news.

I did watch September 5 last night, though. I'm an Olympics junkie so even though I've seen One Day in September, I was still riveted -- especially about the botched German police response. Fascinating.

I don't understand why it seems impossible for some people to understand or enjoy cultural-specific art. We all got dragged to museums on field trips as kids and looked at warheads and and sampling embroidery, and no one got mad bc it "wasn't for them."
Most of the complaints about Kendrick's show can be summed up in 3 words: not for us.

Is there a single celebrity who couldn't be bought this year?

Why am I so grossed out, this year in particular (aside from the AI)?

Ahead of Kendrick’s performance today, here’s a look back at the greatest halftime show ever, including the political, cultural & social messages Prince sent through his choice of songs and the story he was telling about Black music, ownership and creative control. www.anildash.com//2021/02/05/...

WHAT FRESH HELL IS THIS
If this was AI-generated, I’m no longer afraid of AI. This is comically bad. (If a human wrote this, well I for one welcome our new AI overlords)
