I've never been keen on resolutions; this year, I chose to make "wishes" instead, which is sort of like setting incredibly loose intentions & "let's see what happens"... Do I have energy, time, funds, or willpower to make the wish come true? Or is it a daydream for now?

I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas. I don't really do New Year's resolutions -- each year, I imagine the things I hope to do in the coming year. And I guess, in a way, I make a private little wish & if any of those things happen, I'll know... this wish or that was granted. It feels special. 🌠

One of the things my time on Mastodon 🦣 & Bluesky 🦋 so far has taught me is that I really appreciate | enjoy organic & authentic interactions. The whole reason I joined Facebook in 2006 was because it was marketed as a friend-base. A place to gather all one's friends and really talk.

Domestic USA adoptees🥚: I'm wondering how common this experience is or if y'all even think to check this sort of thing -- When I learned my bio-dad's name & the place where he was living when I was born, I Googled them & eventually became interested in what Facebook Groups were local to that area.

🥚 This part is so moving and heartbreaking to me. Some mothers/families did return to get their children when their circumstances changed. Many of course did not 😢 .
