In honour of finishing my sequel, The Phoenix and the Ant: Ancestral Cries - Coming May 28th - I have lowered the price of the e-book for the first book to $2.99. It's a wonderful adventure and a magical coming-of-age.

A 68 year old in the North End was killed in the middle of the day yesterday by the driver of a Ram 1500 and I think if that driver had used any other weapon we’d be hearing about it on the front page but because they used a big truck I’m not sure it’ll make the paper.

The city skipped adding any bike infrastructure when they redid Selkirk a couple years ago, in favour of keeping this a high-speed, high-traffic corridor for people who live further out.

The struggle of writing sometimes is all the distractions. And not just fun memes, but just the constant drive to need to doomscroll. My writing time is often also my time to catch up with the world and it's a hard balance. I sometimes find myself too distraught to write a fun fantasy story.

Book 3 Update and Title Reveal! I won't make you read the blog post for it. Book 3's title reveal is The Phoenix and the Ant: Ashes of the Anthill
Book 3 Update – Title Reveal and First Draft Complete
Hello everyone, It’s been a while! I’m popping into your inbox with a long-awaited (and very exciting) update. The first draft of Book 3 is officially complete! Right now, it’s sitting at just under 90,000 words making it the largest book in the series so far (just barely). There are still a few more scenes and chapters I need to weave in to make sure every beat lands perfectly.

More and more I'm finding my issue when cycling in Winnipeg isn't getting somewhere (though that can be greatly improved still), it's having a reliable spot to lock up my bike. Too many businesses have no bike racks/storage at all.
