This is horrible to post, but I may as well post it. We are essentially shutting down research operations in my group, which is focused on treatments for pediatric brain cancer. I’m a well funded investigator, and there’s no choice. Science can’t function without the stability of NIH

"...the biggest blockages in public hospitals...are people discharged from hospital who were unable to leave because they were waiting for an aged-care place to open up, or people with NDIS packages...with not enough support to leave." Federal responsibilities that are dealt with by the states.

I've noticed using the word "valid" without qualification causes huge communication breakdowns on SLP instagram. "Valid" has a distinct colloquial/social media definition. Without the qualification of stating something is "scientifically" valid - the message quickly misconstrued and lambasted
