A third of people just like fascism, it was that way in Nazi Germany, it's that way today
As was clear during Trump 1, roughly 37% of Americans are committed to white supremacy &/or Christian nationalism, no matter the cost. Very much reminds me of the Reconstruction South, which doubled down on the plantation regime that had destroyed the country in the aftermath of emancipation.

This campaign is about more than politics.

It’s about loving our neighbors — not just in words, but in work.

I was proud to join our volunteers in serving warm meals to our neighbors in Dallas.

Not to worry, I'm sure the Trump Administration's antisemitism task force will be looking into this pronto and coming up with measures to counteract this trend.

"Are you impressed by Richard Hanania?" has become a good litmus test.

Value debate over substance? Influenced by X? Have trouble with bad faith? Taken in by fancier words? Think showing you're open to toxic ideas makes you better than people who aren't?

Matt Yglesias, Jared Polis — any others?
it’s been pretty funny to see Polis’ addiction to posting completely end any discussion of him as a potential 2028 candidate

without birthright citizenship in the united states, you don't have a democracy and you don't have rule of law.

revoking birthright citizenship gives fascists free rein to purge the country of literally anyone they don't like. it opens the door to atrocities and mass murder. i am not exaggerating.

Not dissimilar to ‘Russia invading Ukraine makes no sense!’

What ‘makes sense’ depends a great deal on the baseline bellicosity of your population and how they view their neighbors
People who say Israel's posture towards Syria makes no sense are stupid and just refuse to accept what Israel's logic is

wrong! Jesus was Jewish, which means Saturday was the Sabbath, and one IS permitted to do 'work' on the Sabbath to save a life. In fact using the fact that it's the Sabbath as an excuse NOT to save a life would be 'breaking religious rules.'
Left out the best part:

"She compared these strikes to a story in the Bible, when Jesus healed someone on a Sunday, contradicting religious rules that forbid work on that day. Some laws are worth breaking for the betterment of mankind, she said, just like the biblical story was trying to show."

At least one other boat, the one with the Colombian fisherman, was adrift and displaying a distress signal with its engine out of the water. To attack a disabled vessel in distress and signaling for assistance is basically in the same category as killing shipwrecked survivors clinging to wreckage.

The fact that a second strike like that in an armed conflict is definitely a war crime should not completely negate the fact that *there is no war* and ALL the strikes are cold-blooded murder. The whole chain of command are murderers.

Fascinating flash-point here, liberal stalwart Senator Chris Van Hollen's office is explicitly attacking the CEO of the "Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington" for being "an apologist for the Netanyahu government".

The Judge used to be a kind of principled libertarian voice on Fox so it’s not that strange to see him challenging talking points esp on this issue.
Woah. Newsmax’s legal analyst just said Pete Hegseth and everyone involved in the illegal boat strike should be “prosecuted for a war crime.”

They’ve even lost Newsmax on this one.

There was a tweet some years back that was like "Being a Democrat is like going to a concert where the band is telling everyone to calm down the whole time" and I think about it a lot
For some reason Democratic leaders seem to prefer telling voters what they won’t be able to do, rather than what they’d like to do.

If Hegseth ordered a war crime and lied about it, shouldn’t Ds try for impeachment? Put Rs on the spot. They might get a few defections.

Jeffries says not to expect Democrats to pursue Hegseth impeachment over boat strikes
