Nice to have another reason to avoid Starbucks besides just the terrible coffee
As of this morning, Starbucks workers across the country are officially ON STRIKE. And we're prepared for this to become the biggest and longest ULP strike in Starbucks history.

Say #NoContractNoCoffee with us: DON'T BUY STARBUCKS for the duration of our open-ended ULP strike! $SBUX

A scoop that I’m not happy to report:

CBS News has gutted its climate change reporting team, one of the best in the business, and one of the only ones on cable news that consistently called out fossil fuels as the main source of climate pollution.

When Bari Weiss was given the keys to CBS, I expected this would happen, but not so fast and so thoroughly.

@tracywholf.bsky.social is one of the best producers, on climate or otherwise. There's no other explanation for her dismissal than blatant censorship from Ellison and Weiss.

Are we really expected to take advice on climate action from the guy who has invested nearly a billion dollars in nuclear fusion and direct air capture?

It's official. This is the only Bill we should turn to for climate.

At a time when most other plants are going dormant, American witch hazel erupts in ringlets of spindly, golden flowers. And unlike most understory shrubs, witch hazels don’t depend on birds for seed dispersal. Instead, they fire their seeds up to 10 meters across the forest floor... (1/2) 🌿🧪

This story was inspired by a conversation with a fossil fuel exec in Paris a few days after the big outage in Spain. He blamed too much renewable energy as the cause.

Was that really it? Turns out: No.

@npr.org takes you through a new report on what happened + impacts of renewable misinformation.
After Spain's blackout, critics blamed renewable energy. It's part of a bigger attack
When millions lost power in Spain and Portugal this spring, some were quick to blame too much solar and wind power. That wasn't the cause, but the misinformation had an impact.

It seems there are two main reasons things haven’t gone completely to shit in the US: 1. Lawyers and the courts; 2. Journalists and the media. Most of us can’t do anything about the first, but we can support journalism. Stop complaining about paywalls and subscribe to news & donate to public media.

Why are prominent Democratic politicians, celebrities, etc hosting a tour of Portland? When he says stupid stuff, we have to actively demonstrate that he is a fool, instead of just assuming everyone knows
