“Do not surrender to political pressure or abandon crucial research questions”. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
When the government cancels your research grant, here’s what you can do
The mass cancellation of US federal grants marks yet another escalation in political interference in science, but there are ways to keep crucial research going.

I want to talk about the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) concept of "Opposite Action", how it applies to our current moment in time, and how liberals need to embrace this concept to bring about change.

WHAT IS OPPOSITE ACTION?

💫 Acting in a way opposite of your emotional urge 💫

This is my favorite picture of Stonewall.

They knew they were getting arrested just for being LGBTQ+.

Yet... they're still here, standing outside of the boarded up Stonewall Inn, smiling as the world was at a fever pitch of hatred against them.

I think about it a lot in moments like this.

Now is not the time to be quiet. We must choose to stand for what we believe in and not be compliant in this very dark part of history
Talking about INCLUSION and other “controversial” words to the visiting PhD recruits this morning sure got their attention. STEM training that is not inclusive, equitable and accessible is not high-quality training. Most students want a safe and supportive place to do kick-ass research 🧪
