well, this has come up in a few recent talks now, so putting it to record:
the emphasis on "romantic love" as somehow the weightiest and most important kind of love, versus platonic, is a humongous peeve of mine, to say the least
and I'll even go so far as to say I think it's caused a lot of harm

My doctor just sat me down and told me he's going to turn me into an experimental beast. It will be a struggle coping with the loss of my inherent humanity, but at least I will be a violent mechanoid animal hybrid without the capacity for thought or speech. I go under the knife in less than an hour.

People outside the games industry don't grasp that this is absolutely unheard of. Workers don't get royalties, and we definitely don't get performance bonuses. When we make a hit game we sometimes just get laid off
