The words that assert that she, as a single unified force of will and body—in defiance of all existence—shall persist. Heulog feels the thrumming slow, its rhythmic cadence aligning with her own deep breaths. She gently removes her hand from Kysurax’s torso and feels the Wizard’s arms close around her, pulling her into a tight embrace. “I am afraid,” Kysurax finally says, calm returned to her voice. “But I temper that fear with the certainty that I will be alright, because you are with me.” She looks down at the Exo in her arms, into the starblue flames that are her eyes, and smiles. “I do not doubt, for I have seen your heart. As you have seen mine. That is the power intrinsic to the Yielding Inquisition: there is no obfuscating act of misdirection, no factor of deceit that can withstand the abrading blade of trust conjured by the ritual. Truly, I have known you, and that secret knowledge is a weapon with which I joyfully flense and cast aside any and all flesh given over to the rot of doubt.” Cover art for the podcast "Real Lich Hours" hosted by Kaye Ross and Gary Butterfield over on their network "Duckfeed.tv" for their new season wherein they are covering "Vampire: The Masquerade: Bloodlines" The art is of the two hosts as vampires, looking menacingly at the viewer. incredible game, one of the best racing games of all time, etc etc, but it cannot be overstated how much of a sledgehammer the soundtrack was at the time. THPS-levels of time-capsule potency, this game holistically is an incredible look into a specific demographic's experience of The Aughts.

Burnout 3 is underrated as one of the very, very best games of all time because you can show Burnout 3 footage to people two decades later and their reaction will still be "hell yeah, this rules. I wanna play this right now."

Part of why I keep most game communities at arm's length.

Destiny's especially, in my experience, but any game with a playerbase of sufficient size will generate these kinds of exhausting attitudes towards devs.

great read, and a bit of a steadying hand in the face of a broader games culture that is very much not on the same page as me. the giant bomb-into-waypoint transition felt so natural, it was easy to feel it was just *the* trajectory for all games crit/culture, and it was *not*—even in my own circles

Petty Complaint: A few months back I finally replaced my 15yo 1080p DVI monitor w a 1440p DP one. (I say replaced, but I kept it as extra screen space) and since then, some games seem just hell-bent on getting pulled to the old monitor. Some behave after I move them back but others simply refuse
