And because I’m a nerd I just sit on social media taking screenshots for data. Here’s someone whose bio describes them as a “sound healer” cheering on Trump’s U.S. of AI videos that simultaneously include extremist and childish imagery. *Stefan voice*: this post has everything.
The sound healer says in response to reporting on trumps use of fake AI imagery that is both childish and pulls from historical fascist images: “Absolutely love it! He is mirroring the ridiculousness of the left and they can't take a joke!”

Okay exhibit Z on why it’s ok to block randoms who pop in out of nowhere w/ problematic replies. I had time and tried b/c this account has a bunch of progressive keywords in the bio. Finally block before being called a bitch or wasting more time because I’ve walked this street many times.

You are missing the fact that 47 only hires attractive women to do his dirty work and they are more than willing to do it. Which leads to the question of Why? Stop reading into people's comments and stop accusing people of things of whom you know nothing about. I respond: Ok, some of that is critique of Trump and the politics of women who work for him, what does that have to do with blowjobs? You kinda sound like you just hate women and want an excuse to make sexist comments in a random woman who you've never otherwise interacted with replies. Which is not okay. This great article about Chicago "Black Placemaking: Celebration, Play, and Poetry," by Hunter, Pattillo, Robinson, and Taylor-- open access here:

Abstract Using Chicago as our case, this article puts forth a notion of black placemaking that privileges the creative, celebratory, playful, pleasurable, and poetic experiences of being black and being around other black people in the city. Black placemaking refers to the ways that urban black Americans create sites of endurance, belonging, and resistance through social interaction. Our framework offers a corrective to existing accounts that depict urban blacks as bounded, plagued by violence, victims and perpetrators, unproductive, and isolated from one another and the city writ large. While ignoring neither the external assaults on black spaces nor the internal dangers that can make everyday life difficult, we highlight how black people make places in spite of those realities. Our four cases – the black digital commons, black public housing reunions, black lesbian and gay nightlife, and black Little League baseball – elucidate the matter of black lives across genders, sexualities, ages, classes, and politics.

If you guys think I’m joking about being committed to this I tried to call those masked ice agents riding around in the back of an unmarked U-Haul and filming themselves jumping out on innocent people “absolute weirdo losers” in an Instagram comment last week and Zuck’s algorithm told me it was mean

I find a lot of the bots on here to be very poorly executed and weird, but the researcher in me is also really curious about the bot genres. There are the fake celebrities, the romance scammers, the fake blue wave accounts, and a huge number of these fake military accounts
An obviously fake account because it’s Senator Bernie Sanders face on a body wearing a military uniform. The name on the account says “Buehler” but the tag on a different military uniform in the background says buemler. The accounts bio also reads as fake since active military don’t generally tell you all their business on the internet and there are likely ai or stolen and uncredited images in the shares. Also several accounts I’ve blocked like this only follow women bluesky users.

Just popping in on Day 7 to anecdotally report on the mood about re the strike in my Philly hood: 1) the block listserv has formally agreed that going to drop your trash yourself is crossing a picket line and anyone who does it will be harshly judged, 2) these flyers appeared everywhere yesterday

Stumbled on this in my neighborhood cemetery: this woman was born on a cotton plantation in South Carolina, her family enslaved people (yes I checked); she died after my parents were born (I’m a millennial) & is buried alongside countless Black Philadelphians who were laid to rest here decades later
