"In less than a year in the White House, Donald Trump has used the power of the presidency to demolish institutions and run roughshod over the rule of law," The Inquirer Editorial Board writes.

this just has me thinking about how so much of this government and the movement around it is purely a matter of aesthetics. is there a strategic reason for produce a new warship? maybe. but my hunch is that this is happening because the president thinks it will look cool.
President Trump will announce on Monday a new type of large warship he is calling “battleships,” marking a step toward achieving the president’s vision for a new “Golden Fleet.”
Trump To Announce Navy Will Buy New ‘Battleship’
The new warship will be the latest in what the White House envisions as a “Golden Fleet.”

BRENNAN: What are you going to do to force DOJ to comply?

MASSIE: The quickest way and most expeditious way to get justice for these victims is to bring inherent contempt against Pam Bondi. That doesn't require going through the courts. We're drafting that right now.

Absolutely right.

AI might be able to summarize (poorly) what we currently know, but a major goal of historical research is to find the hidden surprises out there.

Let me illustrate …
Not a historian but like to research. The AI might summarize what I'm looking for, but it doesn't find what I'm *not* looking for. The book on the shelf next to the one I wanted. The insight in chapter 6 based on the quote I needed from chapter 4.

Very weird take. The part I transcribed was the relevant part of Kaine’s answer and the rest of it was throat clearing, unless you think as Kaine does that Democrats are doing a good job right now forcing Trump to comply with the law.
Boy, cutting off the transcript at “I think that’s premature” when Kaine goes on to talk about all the other ways Congress has to force compliance in the full quote seems more than a little dishonest
WELKER: Massie and Khanna say they are looking at options including impeachment and contempt for DOJ officials. Would you support those steps?

KAINE: I think that's premature

The way the Dems are apparently doing zero planning ahead.

Everyone knew this was coming. Why weren't these options reviewed already and a strategy ready to deploy immediately?

He wasn't attacking you. He was explaining why you were wrong.

But yes, I'm going to defer to the politician who has repeatedly won re-election because, at the very least, he understands IL-6 is not a "safe seat" and knows running up the margin is not the actual goal in congressional campaigns.
There’s nothing wrong with @casten.house.gov being an electoral underperformer in a safe seat, but in his thread attacking me he is asking Democrats to defer to his political judgment. I think it’s a smarter bet to defer to folks who overperform in tough races.

Why decline all these chances to defend feminism? Because to participate would be accepting the premise that our rights and humanity are up for debate in the first place.

Once you’ve conceded that it’s reasonable to ask whether women’s equality was a mistake, you’ve already lost.
