Bench day!
265x3, 275x3, 285x1, 295x1, and then 315x1 here. But I like doing multiple “climbs” - after 315, I went back down to 225 and worked my way up once again before repeating the climb a third time.
Personally helps lock my muscles and mind into “explosive mode”.

(5/5) Finishing off with Hand Release Push Ups cus it’s part of the army fitness test. Absolutely gassed by this point but hey if I can do them tired, I can do more when I’m fresh.
Definitely worth investing time in training push ups if you struggle to do more than 30~.

(4/5) Overhead Tricep Extensions - go nice and low on the bottom of the rep for mobility. There’s a hundred fancy ways to train triceps but you really only need this and the regular Tricep Extensions (and dips but that’s a compound movement).

(3/5) Single Arm Presses, because isolateral movements like these train core and stability more than a hundred crunches or a balancing ball ever could.

(2/5) DB Presses at a high incline. Still keeping the weight at about RPE (rate of perceived exertion) ~8/10 and going to failure for 4 sets.

Full workout post! It’s shoulder day.
(1/5) First up: Overhead Presses. Worked up to 175 for 3 doubles and dropped to 155x8, 135x12. Good practice to start with heavy compounds while you’re fresh - kicks all them strength muscle fibers into gear.

2 years ago I was at my heaviest bw of 210lbs and I still couldn’t squat above 320lbs due to past hernias. There was just as much of a mental barrier as there was physical.
Today I’m 185lbs and I managed 363lbs. Didn’t even need belt or shoes. Don’t stop grinding, folks.
